Laura graduated in 2009 from Manchester Metropolitan University with a BSc (Honours) degree in Physiotherapy. On returning to Belfast she gained valuable experience working in the Paediatric Special Needs Unit and with the MS Society Physiotherapy Service. She was also the physio for Holywood RFC 1st XV for 2 years during this time, and completing a Diploma in Sports Massage.
She then made the transition into physio private practice, working in busy clinics for 3 years before putting her career on hold to have her first child in 2014. It was in these private settings that she undertook training in Pilates instruction and began teaching classes regularly.
Advancing her physio skills, Laura has completed her training in the unique The Sarah Key Method, taught by Sarah Key herself. This was a turning point in her career, giving a new perspective on how to assess and treat spinal conditions for the better. She also trained in Myofascial Release which is a specialised approach to treat damaged soft tissue by feeling and ‘tuning in’ to the fascial tissue beneath the skin.
Laura’s approach to your recovery is very manual, and with specialising in The Sarah Key Method, Myofascial Release, Pilates, Dry Needling and Sports Massage you are in safe hands.
She has joined NDP, after having her second child, with great enthusiasm and will be a valuable and skilled member of the team.
Outside of physiotherapy Laura is a member of the Belfast Community Gospel Choir and enjoys tennis, running and hiking.
